About Me

Marie Iding (PhD, University of California, Santa Barbara) is a professor in Educational Psychology at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. She has also taught in California, American Samoa, and Chuuk (Federated States of Micronesia). She has written a number of articles regarding various aspects of learning and teaching, and has taught and conducted research in California, Norway, and the Pacific region. She has presented her education and technology-related research at many international venues, including Scotland, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, Kenya, Jamaica, and South Africa, and has delivered workshops on publication and teaching in Vietnam, Hawai‘i, Slovenia, and Ecuador. She also served as Guest Researcher in the Department of Information Science and Media Studies at the University of Bergen, Norway, and as Visiting Professor at the Computational Social Science Laboratory in the Center for Applied Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. In her spare time she loves long distance ocean swims, YA fiction writing, and Pacific Island travel.
